EMULSION LIFTING, Yago Alcover
A workshop on emulsion lifting from Super 8 and 16mm films. A cameraless film technique that allows the emulsion to be removed from its original base so it can be transferred to a new base. Closely related to collage and dé-collage, this decadent aesthetic technique allows for the reconfiguration of the archive and connects both visual and narrative aspects.
In the workshop, we will also explore other techniques for visual intervention in film images, such as the use of paint, scratching, and bleaching.
